Hello everyone, i was wondering if anybody could tell me how to connect the choke cable on a Stromberg 175 CD carb, as the old choke cable has detached itself from the carb, so i dont know where it came off. The carb is on a 1972 Mercedes 220 (W114 - W115). Many thanks in advance.

can you not operate the choke butterfly valve by hand and keep a watchful eye for any unconnected linkages moving. You may have to remove the carb from the manifold to gain access.

My understanding is that if it has quarter light windows on the front door the it is a 114 otherwise it is a 115.

chokes and windows

I cant see a butterfly valve on the carb, so i was wondering if anybody has a picture of the carb fitted to the same type of car.

The car has the quarter light windows, but the (original) engine is marked as a 115.
