Hi
Well I have now taken the plunge, and bought an SLK 320, (2001). Chuffed to bits or what !!..........

I am looking at getting my Mini Ipod connected to the sound system in the car I know it can be done by various different ways. Has anyone got any views on the best way to do this ?.

The HiFi in the car at the moment is a Mercedes manufactures standard, (Not sure what make that is). CD Player.

Many Thanks

Ipod Connection SLK

Hi Pascal
I did take a look at this web page, however this kit is only for the new SLK (2004) Onwards, as Far as I know there is a connection for an auxiliary connection fitted in the glove compartment. This is factory fitted.

Just wondered if there was an alternative for the earlier models.

Cheers

Ivor

As far as I know, there is a wiring kit.

Try an advanced search.

Search by key word: ipod
Search in Forum(s): Electrics, Vacuum, ignition & ECU

And click: Search Now

Alpine in car audio. www.alpine-europe.com now have cd players that fully interface fully with ipod's via an interface box, a little pricey. But that is what happens with a premium sound system manufacturer- incidently who use Mercedes images on there literature & web sites.

You can get the radio transmitter gadget (only legal in the USA but no issue!) They are an ipod accessary. They cost about £40. You just tune your car radio (any car radio!) into a certain frequency and the ipod then plays through your radio as if it were a station. Cheap and works a treat. Works in ANY car with a radio by the way...

On some LHD models there is a wiring adaptor under the floor / sill on the same side as the glove compartment that you can intercept. Have seen on other MB forums.

On RHD is it still on the right or still on the same side as the glovebox? I don't know.
