Is this possible?

Before I start ripping things about does anybody know if there is a standard RCA Phono socket on the TV Tuner that I can plug an audio source into (an MP3 player for example). Its for the comand 2.5 system, in my S320 (W220), and I simply want to get a line-in for simple audio only.

Any advice would be very gratefully received!:D

Yes it is possible and to listen just switch to TV and then AUX 1 or 2 dependent on where you plug it in. There are 2 sets of RCA jacks on the tuner, and you just use the L & R and ignore the Yellow vision jack.

If you are going to use it a lot, and you have the TV setting tuned to AUX 1 or 2, then just by pushing the TV button it will come onto the AUX setting where you last used it, in other words, just push the TV button again.

This is great news, and makes IPOD integration relatively straightforward, thanks as always Malcolm for a useful post...

Just a thought, I am not entirely sure where the TV Tuner is to be found in my car. Its a 2000 W220 S320. Also, a few posts I read mentioned that some earlier TV tuners didn't have straight RCA connectors, but had some strange block connectors instead. These needed a rather expensive lead to allow a phono connection. Are you aware of this or should I expect mine to look like the image you sent?

(I cant check at the moment as my Mercedes is safely on the drive at home, whilst I use the family 4x4 to get to work!)

Yes please I would really love to know before I start pulling the trim out... I have a nasty feeling that it has some crappy weird connector on it and this will turn an easy job into one thats quite a bit harder (and more expensive!).

Look forward to whatever you find out Malcolm. (do you need a VIN?)
