Can anyone advise where engine block drain plug is on current C Class (petrol)? Haynes just say right hand side but I can't see where.
Also, how much fluid would remain in block if only radiator drain (easily accessible) was used?
Thanks in anticipation

coolant

Hi Baj the radiator drain plug is in the bottom left hand corner usually a red plug and the block drain plug is under the exhaust manifold in no4 cylinder water jacket.Don't know what model you have but budget on around 10litres if doing a complete change.

Thanks for the info. Is the block drain plug accessible with the car on the ground or does it need to be on a ramp? In my original posting I asked about volume of water in block to see if it was worth 'cheating' and just draining from radiator (as suggested by a local MB dealer). Any thoughts?
Thanks again, Brian

It would be easier on a ramp but i would just drain the radiator and refill with fresh antifreeze
