I'm going to change it due to it been top up with just water after a little leak, so the coolant will have been diluted, do you by any chance no how much the system hold then I no how much coolant to get ?Why do you need the change the coolant. it’s good for 15 years.
G48 is the correct coolant.
If you don't know what's in there flush the entire system. Mixing incompatible coolants can result in a gel forming which will be serious issue to get rid of.
Better be safe than sorry..if you change it , then you can be sure of whats in it. Even If you have been the original owner all the time, I would not leave the same coolant in the engine, regardless of what the manufacturer says...But if you are not the 1st owner, then you won't know exactly what's in the system...and its not that big or expensive a job to do. I changed my car two weeks ago, and 1st job up will be a coolant change. Why do you need the change the coolant. it’s good for 15 years.

Its 2 years ago, and the Merc was a 2010 w212 7.226 automatic, with the OM 651 engine. If memory serves me right, I bought 5 ltrs of Comma G48 concentrate, which gave me 10 Ltrs of fluid to work with + plus I had a spare litre MB pre-mix, same spec as the G4, just in case, and I had enough in that amount, with some left over. Thanks for advice what mec was it on and how much coolant did it take , because I'm getting a mix Amount of how much to put in
