Coolant

As I have to tear my cooling system apart, can anyone recommend a good coolant? I might as well flush the system and do the lot whilst I'm there.

You're best off buying MB coolant from your local dealership.

MB coolant is formulated differently from the cheap stuff you can buy in your local accessory shop.

Its not too expensive.

Thankyou, I shall grab some on my way home- I bet they won't be too chuffed that a knackered 190e that sound like it is a walrus in labour has just pulled up outside. Water pumps can be sooooo embarassing!

Mjtray is right. Not all coolant is the same. Commaoil (www.commaoil.com) has a useful "application guide" if you dont want to use MB stuff (having said that it will probably cost about the same!)

According the the info, if you use Comma products, the 190e needs Xtream Green which is actually MB approved.
