Hi Everyone!
Have recently obtained a 1993 320E (104 engine) in a part ex. deal. Never owned a MB before but find it a joy to drive.
Problem recently ocurred. The viscous fan started clattering, and on investigation found that the fan pully was wobbling about and the fan blades catching on the front of the engine. Have removed the fan and the bracket which houses a bearing. The bearing looks like its never seen any lubrication and as such half of the ball bearings are shot away.
Have searched the net for 'Fan Clutch Bearing Bracket' and they seem to be readily available in the USA. Don't realy want to risk buying from there in case it's the wrong type, there seems to be quite a few variations. Have contacted local MB dealer and and he wants silly money. Does anyone know of any suppliers of OEM parts in the UK who may supply such item at more reasonable price.

No, the water pump is to the side. The pully just rotates on a bearing which is housed in a plate/bracket on the front of the engine. The engine is a 3.2 - 6 cyl.

That's it. They seem to be plenty available in the USA at a fraction of the cost. Thought I might be able to get one from in the UK.
