Hi,

Just looking through some corrosion topics. I bought a C220 2000 reg. Im the 2nd owner. Can i still claim for corrosion? I have the common bubbling by the boot lock on the boot lid.

Also with the boot lock, do i have to use the button on the key or the switch inside the car to open the bootlock? I would like to be able to open just by pressing the actual lock on the boot. Is there some setup on the alarm or something to allow me to do this? My brothers E class does let you open from the actual lid?

Thx

Jay

Yes you can claim as the warranty is for the car not the owner.

If you set the boot lock to the unlock position with the key you can then open the boot externally when the central locking is unlocked.

thanks diesleman,

However, in the boot lock, the key only turns 45 degrees each way, cant find an 'unlock' position.

Is the warranty covered under mobilolife?? i.e is it only 3 yrs or longer? My car was registered in Jan 2000.

Thanks

By the time your car was registered the inside-out corrosion warranty had been extended to 30 Years. Boot lock rust is a common problem and MB will cover it as long as the paint is either original or has been repaired by MB dealer.
