I have the usual leaks with my SL350. I'll be getting a car cover shortly however in the interim can I place a plastic bag over the battery to try an reduce any issues?

Thanks

The PSE is more at risk than the battery so I would protect that.

Assuming your battery is vented it shouldn’t be a problem. Just be careful in disposing the bag when finished.

Put 5mm polystyrene in zipbag and gently lift pse up push bag under.u dont want a bill for that, assumes you refer to boot leak ? I was lucky .never had any water in mine, but prepared for it and did mod.

Thank you all.

i’ve not put the battery in a bag. I’ve just put a bin bag over it and tucked it around it.

yeah it’s beginning to look like a boot leak as well as roof leak from the c pillars :(

Is this quite straightforward to move the pse pump? I've just ordered the polystyrene.

Wouldn't the plastic bag sweat?

I had no issues the thin polystyrene is sealed in zipbag.

Job done yesterday. Someone has clearly been in before me as there are two inch blocks of wood under the PSE pump. It's also no longer in it's foam lower cover. All the signs suggest the previous owner has had issues.

I couldn't get the pump out enough to get it back into it's foam cover and I don't think it would take much to break things so I just put the polystyrene ziplocked bag under it and replaced the two blocks of wood as well.

Thanks for the idea. Hopefully it's enough to prevent any problems.
