Hi, Got a problem with the above and thought I could cut and paste all the entries from the previous thread on this! In other words, got C class sports coupé, slack seat belt cracked speaker cover, previously replaced under warranty, replaced seat belt slack again and cracked speaker cover. BUT MB not prepared to help this time. Also, an edict from MB in September 09 suggests that speaker covers will no longer be replaced. So, I'd like to explore replacing speaker cover myself and was pleased to see from last post that "it's easy". Could someone tell me how (after first buying a new cover!). Many thanks, Martin

The speaker cover is held to the door liner with "plastic bonding nubs". How does one remove and refit these?

Early cars had the spire clip nuts,, soon followed up by melting the the pegs with the tip of a hot iron, and with these you just push the peg remains all the way through.

A hot melt glue will hold them, or just touch the ends with a soldering iron tip

Cracked Speaker Cover

Malcolm, thanks for your time. Email is... See we've picked up another enquirer already. My local MB dealer says the belts/speaker covers have been modified on the new model... Says it all. Martin.

As Malc said, then when refitting the new ones, you then use Spring washers to hold the new ones in place!!
