Crackling from Bose Amp through speakers!!

Every now and then I get this crackling through the speakers. I was told that the Bose amps are prone to failing on the W208 CLK's, so he suggested that I buy a new amp.

Does this sound feasible?

Youve plugged in Malcolms old record player havent you.!!!!!!!!

Remove the amp open it up and look for water or damp damage could be a dry joint and nothing more than that, cheap fix if it is.
