Yep, came out this morning and turned the key and nothing happened. Made all the right noises up to the point of actual sparking!!

Turns out it was the crank sensor so I've left it with my independant to:
fit a new one
replace both front/ rear discs as starting to feel lipped
new pads front and rear
replace the brake fluid
replace the tiny seal around my roof aerial

I haven't had the quote yet, but does anyone have ANY indication how much this little lot will cost?

Thanks

When my crank shaft sensor went it was fixed for free by mobilolife - mercedes breakdown service due to my fsh. The part on the guy's sheet was about 30 pounds takes about 12mins to fit and one set of scratched knuckles...don't know about the other parts but would be interested to know?

Cost Breakdown!!

I received my car back from Premier Service http://www.premier-service.co.uk/ and the work they carried out was to the highest standards. The very knowledgeable mechanic (who incidently drives the same car as mine so knows the CLK inside out), showed me all the work they were preparing to do, explained why they were doing it and showed me all the removed parts.

I can recommend them highly and I have posted the link to their website above.

PARTS
Crankshaft Sensor - £70.95
Wiper Blade - £12.86
Brake Discs - Front (x2) - £119.04
Front Pads - £122.57
Brake Dics - Rear (x2) - £77.02
Rear Pads - £39.95
Sender Units (x2) - £6.96
Screws (x4) - £7.44
Screw (x2) - £1.64
Screw (x1) - £0.89

LABOUR
Replace Crankshaft Sensor - £24.00
Replace Front Pads/ Dics - £114.00
Replace Rear Pads/ Dics - £78.00
Replace Hydraulic Brake Fluid - £48.00

They also tuned my car free of charge, reset the display, repaired a minor oil leak on the underside of my sump (a pipe had come loose), cleaned all the oil residue, replaced my oil filler cap (as the seals had perished) and showed me how to properly use the air-con/ climate control for maximum benefit AND how to put the display into diagnostic mode.

The staff are excellent and the mechanics knowledge of MB's is second to none. They are not the cheapest around but I think they provide good value for money and the quality of work is superb!!

AND all of the parts are genuine MB so no annulment of the warranty!!

I won't be going anywhere else.

The people that worked there gave me real confidence that they cared for my car and they sure know their stuff!! They also give sound advice either in person or over the phone AND they won't rip you off. If something NEEDS replacing they will tell you and if they think it can wait XX weeks/ months, they will have the decency to tell you also....

Give them a try, you won't regret it!!
