Some more information would help such as when does it happen?
Does it happen whenever the car goes over a bump?
Only when cornering in one direction e.g.. when turning left.
Only when one side goes over a bump?
(As Malcolm asked) With roof up or roof down?

Knowing as many variables as possible would be useful.
It may be the roof when stowed, or a worn suspension bush or even the boot itself.

With all of this type of car, treating the rubber seals all over with a silicon grease or Krytox can work wonders with roof noises, once done the rood will close tighter and the car can become very quiet.

If it is the same with the roof up or down then that eliminates the roof and it should not be too hard to locate the problem, do lubricate the lock catch where the boot closes onto.

Thanks all. I can say that the noise is more prominent when travelling at slow speeds over a bumpy surface. I'm almost certain its coming from the boot

It could be anything on the rear suspension and just too hard to know by remote control on here
