So I noticed over the last few weeks that the cruise control started to blip in and out. While the cruise control was applied it started to drop out at random times. Now this has stopped working completely. Now recently a warning stating, automatic prevention assist plus inoperative, has flagged up. Then finally the tyre sensors are giving a warning that the are all low, I’ve checked them and the pressures are all fine. I assume all three issues are related to some electrical issue. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Car is in for an MOT on Thursday so not sure any of the above would cause a failure.

I had something similar and it was a faulty wheel speed sensor

Yes, usually one of the wheel speed sensors is faulty so the car doesn’t know what the wheels are doing and can’t operate the services you list. Usually also affects ABS and that could be an MOT failure. You need to get a scan done to tell you where the fault is as a starting point.

So the garage have rang and its failed the MOT. Front coil spring has snapped. I’ve had no indication when I’ve been driving the car at all. But it does indicate that the issues I’ve listed could all be related to this problem. £260 including the MOT.

I'm not at all technical but I don't see how those issues you listed could be down to a snapped spring?

It's a long walk wss to snapped spring. Unless a bit of it managed to get lodged in reluctor ring. Unlikely. Not impossible I once spent hrs looking a 10mm spanner, I drove from thika to masia mara and back. The spanner was in the roof rail gutter I forgot it tightening the roof rack!! How it stayed there????????
