Hi,
Are you operating it according to the owners handbook?
Mine is set by, moving the stalk up at the required cruise speed.
First ensure if fitted to yours that the yellow limit warning light on dash display and in the stalk isn,t on.
Hope this helps.

The cruise control and speed limiter work off the same stalk.

Push the stalk IN - Speed limiter

'Click' the stalk UP - Cruise Control

If that doesn't work - check your tyres are the correct size for the vehicle. If they are not, the cruise control won't work.

OK. Cruise won't work under about 20mph.
So first drive along at about 30mph. Make sure limiter is off (light off).
Push cruise stalk upwards. Take foot off accelerator and cruise should maintain your speed. If it doesn't: something is wrong. If so you need "Television" (Malcolm) or one of the more technical members.

Wo slow down replacing the wing with rust, as the car is 7 years old you might get this covered for free by Merc!!!!!
Cars registered late 1998 can get this covered by Merc under a goodwill gesture, I've had it done.
Provided its got ful service history, doesn't have to be dealer service either, Merc will pick up the tab. Saving a few grand!!
Happy days
