A few weeks ago I posted a thread concerning my CC not working after initial start-up. I was keen to sort the problem out before the warranty expired but ultimately didn't have the time, and as the rest of the car worked fine I was reluctant to go anywhere near my local MB dealer (past experience I'm afraid).

I have known for a few months now that the battery was getting past its best but thought I would see if it would take me through the winter. Some weeks I have to leave the car standing for a few days and on start-up on one of these occasions the battery undercurrent warning came up and so I decided to finally change the battery.

The good news is that I now have a fully functioning CC and this can only be attributed to the battery being undercurrent. I think the lesson here is that if you have any electrical problems with the newer mercs make sure that the battery is in good order before embarking on a full scale investigation (which may entail parting with a lot of cash).

I would agree. I had recently been experiencing a few spurious BAS faults on start up. It would appear that the weak battery was causing this, as I haven't had the warning since the battery was replaced.
