Is this a start of a trend for the appreciation of other often ignored parts of our cars?

Glove box lining, for example?

Nice one !

Even better, how about a competition to see who can cram the most in to that sorry excuse for a glove box !!

Then again, maybe not - it's a dead cert that one of the lady owners
would win .....OUCH!!!

Its even worse for me , i have the optional credit card holder in my glove slot. ( its too small for a box )

It sits in the middle and takes up all the space.

hehe still totally useless even now I know what it is. MB could have mounted it to one side of the glove box but no... it's slap bang in the middle taking up all the space.

Mine has rather interesting louvres on the flap. Allegedly they are for credit cards & coins....but I am not buying it.  I think they must have some religious significance!

Arghhh.  After all the excitement of finding out they exist - I can't get to the stealership tomorrow to get a cup-holder cos my 'work hack' ( an 8 yr old Cavalier ) has a collapsed strut top bearing, so the missus will have to give me a lift into work tomorrow in the merc and leave me stranded without transport.  Suppose I could ask her to pop into the stealership on the way home, but I think I'd better wait until she's not around before getting my snazzy cupholder ( forgiveness is always easier to get than permission ).  Spent a day stripping the cavalier down to get it repaired for tomorrow so I could use it to get my cupholder, but can you get a vauxhall strut-top mount and bearing on a sunday? Nope.  Argh - I can't wait two days to join the cup holding fraternity.....

The glovebox mounted "business card holder".
Probably the most useless option in the world.

Makes you wonder why the h*ll
they stuffed it in there, given that the g-box isn't exactly roomy !!

This item appeared in the first C class we tried to buy but thankfully was omitted from the current vehicle.

forgot to post a pic of the cup holder.

Looks like it's supposed to be there, doesn't it?

I've not used it much, but I can tell you it doesn't hold cans of Red Bull (airline can diameter) very well, they don't fall out but they slosh around a bit.  Normal 330 ml cans are held perfectly though.

Shude,

That's the d*amn
pesky item, you have one too eh? As you've commented... totally useless. It's not like that glove compartment is roomy in the first place.

Ballacraine,
try...

[ IMG ]http://www.site.com/your_image.jpg[ /IMG ]

but without the gaps in the square brackets and it means you need ur images to be stored on a web site.
