I have a 93 SL500 which I use during the summer when I am back in the UK, but due to an electrical leak which I have not been able to pin point I disconnect the battery & leave unlocked. This time I did the same, came back to find that I cannot get into the boot to reconnect and all the keys seem to not work even in "manual". For some reason I now have the main electronic key stuck in the main door(I can turn the key but not take it out), I cannot get into the boot to reconnect the battery and the car is totally immobile which has never happened before. Questions are how can the immobiliser work with battery disconnected and how to solve the problem and get me back on the road if and when the weather improves. Local Merc dealer wants to send trailer to pick up car and charge a fortune, Could I connect power via the cigar socket?? anyone got any ideas how to solve??.

Yes with the key turned to 1 or 2 you can get the PSE pump to run to unlock the boot

are you saying via the cigar socket as the battery is disconnected

if it is the cigar socket i will have to make up a plug to go into the socket, is the bottom button on the plug + or - as I do not have a wiring diagram and do not want to screw up the system
