I am in the process of reconditioning my 190E 2.5 16 valve engine and need to know the cylinder sizes. Can anyone provde this info. particulary the original bore diameter.
If you run your block into an engine reconditioners they will be able to tell you the exact dimentions,If you are haveing it rebored the company will supply you with the correct pistons anyway...
I understand this Nicky. I have all the measuring instruments and have obtained the sizes as it is. What i am after is, what were the original dimensions? I can then assess the ammount of wear.
Thanks for trying you guys. You are quite correct Vicky, a step at the top of the cylinder would indicate the amount of wear, but what if it had already had a rebore. I wanted to know the bore's original diameter. With regard to your comments Mustang, I wud av 2 no the clearance dim ov a st piston, wot I don't seem 2 av on the shelf at de moment!
However I have obtained the info from another source. The original size is 95.5 mm The 2.3 16v is the same but with a shorter stroke.
