If they're undamaged and not overly stretched then they can be used a couple of times - are you replacing a HG?

Smart + others :)
Yes there is a measurement of length that is acceptable BUT we have just had a 271 engine in with a snapped head bolt. Head has never been off before??

For peace of mind I would replace. The old ones will be off anyway and whats the cost of a new bolt set!

After inspection if you are going to reuse them I’d soak them in engine oil overnight beforehand

I have a replacement cylinder head to go on. A camera down the head showed a bent valve so instead of taking off and sending away to get skimmed and new valves i have a refurb head to do a straight swap. Should i put new camshafts on? How about a new VVT solenoid, i can test that by hooking it up to the battery and it should fire on/off. Star Motors say there is a stretch length, with a busted valve i think a new set is in order. Who makes them.

I've reused stretch bolts in the past but only on a relatively low powered Hyundai. I replaced all 14 on my 24 valve Senator :)

I liked the Omygod as well :D:p:cool:

I did too .... but it wasn't quite as nice as the 24v Senator :D The Senator was a little more exclusive and had more road presence ... there were loads of Omegas from 2.0 8v right up to the last 3.2 24v
