just got a new wiper blade for my 230TE, and have installed it ok, but ... it doesn't seem to conform to the shape of the windscreen at the edges. as if the blade wants to stay straight where the windscreen curves. is there some way of making it 'bend' to follow the shape of the screen? btw, it's a bosch original part, made specifically for this car. thanks very much for any pointers

A little gentle persuasion of the cantilever guides will make it hug the screen more, but be careful not to bend them too much and foul the run of the blade through the guides. You have to try and keep the guide bit parallel to the screen, while changing the angle it leaves the main part of the carrier from, making it stand just a bit more proud. Tricky, but possible. Don't be too harsh with it. It should just be the guide furthest from the spindle, nearest to the screen edge that you need to "bend".
Good luck

For £15 quid, I'd want them to clean my house windows as well. Do take it easy, you are probably looking at just a few mm and a few degrees of adjustment. I had to do this to my BMW's wipers as well, and got quite used to it. The alternative is a small corner of unswept glass. Depends which you prefer. Lmk how it goes.
