I managed to drive over a Kurb today, not a very clever thing to do, as a result, I have damaged the inner plastic arch.
What are these like to fix, diy, or something for a body works garage. I can probably do a quick fix and replace a missing nut and bolt.
There is a large missing piece, concerned that water could get into places where it could cause problems.

If you can find the bits you can plastic weld as well as drill and cable tie and glue it back together (I did that for the smart when the undertray dropped and it snapped when I reversed)
(Still holding together well 2 years later)

You could get an online parts diagram, see what’s damaged then Google the part (as well as check with MB parts) for how much a new one would be

The plastic liner will not likey be repaired be repaired by a body work garage.

Usually a few bolts holding it on.

Get the PN and get searching otherwise to MB and get a new one in.

I've made both temp and more permanent repairs with cut up black plant pot... the sort a small tree might come in. The material is very close in thickness and flex to the original. Cable ties can be done neatly and the last time I used black mushroom head trim poppers.

Thanks for the help. I think the part might be around £30. Hopefully just a case of jacking up, wheel removal.

I'm hoping this isn't related. Slight alignment problem where top of bumper meets wing.

I would expect that it would be rather difficult to damage the wheel arch liner without the bumper getting pushed out of place to some degree.
If you are going to replace the complete liner they are more awkward than anything else. Several plastic nuts and a few of those plastic retainers that the pin goes through the middle of. You then have to slightly force it past the wheelarch lip. Had one out lately to replace an ABS sensor.

BTW how do you find the Uniroyal rain tyre? Thinking of fitting them before the winter.

Very odd, I've never noticed the out of shame bumper. I will ask Mr Google, how simple fixing this is. I have found an eBay shop selling the front part of the damaged deflector, so I will probably pick that up and some additional trip fasteners that are missing, on both sides.

I really get on with the Uniroyal's. I just like them for the extra grip in the rain, and they drive ok in the dry. I've read some comments where they say dry performance isn't great, but, you must be pushing hard to have issues!

Should be easy enough to get it back into place. I have camber bolts to fit to the car first and present tyres should be ready to change in September, if the damn car keep going for long enough to wear them down. I will try the Uniroyals. Had the older version and found them very good

You're speaking to someone that only performs basic servicing and repairs, right now, I wouldn't have a clue how to realign a panel. Need to get some axle stands before.
I had the previous versions as well, happy with all sets so far. I know a number of other users have them on theirs.

Does anyone know which of these might be best so secure undertrays/splash guards please?

Usually a mix of 8mm and 10mm head screws into plastic inserts

I now have the inner wheel arch trim. I'm a bit vague on how to safely jack up, and should I be using axle stands.

I did have a look last week with a trolley jack, and I do have an old set of axle stands, but am unsure where these should be placed at the front.

Trolley jack under jacking point on sill - Axle stand under lower wishbone / any other solid bit of metal that would support the car if the jack decides it doesn't wish to continue holding the car up.

I often slide the wheel I've taken off under the car as well - if all else fails that will also keep the car off the ground

Thanks. I only have the old standard jack, and not a puck type, would this be ok, or should I be using the jack that came with the car?

I use a standard trolley jack with usually a small bit of wood on the top - Trolley jacks are more stable than the one that came with the car - that is just there to hold the car whilst you change a wheel - you don't want to be anywhere underneath it with that supporting it.

Also chock the rear wheels and use the handbrake (not just park)

Below is my typical setup for working in the wheel arch

what's the long, red/black handled thing between your kneeler & small blue/black rattle gun?
