Well had Merc c270 cdi 02 plate for 3 weeks now sold the 330d BMW today, Merc is a very different car, love the ease of the drive with the auto box however my big grips are the on board computer is hard work compared to the bmw, seem to have to keep pressing buttons and hope required information will eventually come on screen IE miles left in tank, does not automatically tell me if temperature as dropped outside like the BMW very useful this weather and don't seem to be able to change the digital reading in corner of speedo to MPH, last but no means least that stick for cruise control is like a relic out of the dark ages I do still like the car though

On some cars the digital speedo can be changed, but the law requires that both are displayd.

I find the stalk very good as it also has a limiter and most of us love that feature, It is easy to flip through the option menus when its cold if you want the outside temp up.

You will get used to it, once you do it is just a couple of presses on the buttons on the left of the steering wheel. I have an E220 CDi hire car at the moment and I spent a few mins this morning setting up all the options so it works correctly.

The cluster can be coded to enable showing the outside temp in place of the kph display and also (selectable) tank contents. This involves deletion of the "UK Mode" where kph is displayed contstantly. This is not required by law but it is required that kph can be displayed when required, i.e. driving abroad

Iv,e got used to mine now but I think it,s a bit poor
If you have phone pre wire it takes 10 to 20 imputs on the raido & steering wheel to make a call & you cant read a text without taking the phone out of the holder ( 3 points & £60.00 fine ) all in all very very poor

If you have COMAND you can read SMS messages on the unit.

You could enable Speed dialing and then need only 1 or 2 keystrokes to make a call.... Even better get Linguatronic installed and just speak the command, "Call John" to dial John's number
