Dash Cam on Cabriolet.

I’ll soon be having a dash cam fitted. As a rear camera would not be possible on the car (unless fitted between the rear headrests which is not acceptable) I’ll buy a camera with front and rear duel view in the same unit mounted on the windscreen and accept the rear view will be restricted by the rear headrests and small rear screen.
Wherever the camera is fitted on the windscreen it will cause a visual obstruction within the swept area and thus be an MOT failure. I guess I would need to remove the unit when taking for an MOT and replace it afterwards!

My forward facing cameras are within the swept area of the passenger wiper but where you can't see it behind the rear view mirror

As per above, put it up behind the rear view mirror on the pax side

Never had a car fail on where the dash cam is yet.

There isn't room behind the rear view mirror. It can't go below the mirror as that really would be a visual obstruction so it will have to be located on the passenger side of the mirror albeit restricting the angle of the rear view camera.

Interesting picture of your situation and it makes me wonder how much your situation relates to the bog-standard dashcam supplied by Mercedes
