I have read many many posts regarding removing the cluster with a pair of bent coat hanger wires etc which I have been trying to do for days now.
I would really really appreciate some help please.
My MOT is due very soon as my indicator interior bulb isnt working.

Help please....

Hello Gary and welcome, it is possible to push the cluster out from the rear on a 126, running a blunt knife all around the aperture does help

Make a right angled hook out of a strong piece of wire. put wire with the hook facing towards the ground into the Gap between the dash and the instrument shroud. When in by about 1 - 2 inches rotate 45 degrees anti clock wise then gently pull towards you.

We use the mercedes hooks, and as other poeple have found them useful we also sell them, item number 310151168645 on ebay, as most dealers wont let you buy them. But as malcolm said you can just about reach up and push out also.

Cant say enough how important to disconnect the battery before pulling the cluster. If any connections touch even briefly as you unplug, all your gauges could fry. (It happened to me so i speak from experience!)

Oh yes, and when the cluster is out, there is something on the right hand side of the cluster at the rear, that scratches the wood at the bottom right corner of the cluster aperture. I recommend covering it or being very careful.
