dash lights

after fixing my heating problem last month (duo valve). my w140 s500 has thrown a few more problems at me.
the first is that the lcd display on the dash that shows the mileage/trip has quit working so u cant see anything unless u look at it from funny angles. Is there a bulb or something that can be replaced so the numbers show up??
The second is that the self closing door feature on my drivers door has quit working. Could it be something like a cracked vacuum pipe or are these known for problems?

Hi Sully, the instrument cluster has got a bulb out and it needs replacement, sorry I cant help on the door
