Hi
Anyone got a clue as to how you remove the instrument panel on a E320 CE 1994. One of my lights has failed and all I want to do is replace the bulb. It is the rev counter and clock that I cannot see. I have had a look in the HAYNES manual that I have but it is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Help me see the light again. :(

There is a tool for the job but it isnt necessary.

Remove the panel under the dash and then reach in and push the cluster out (just a friction fit) Once out a little you can remove the speedo cable etc and then wriggle it past the steering wheel and hey presto.

I believe one of the bulbs is different either red or white surround. This bulb acts as a fuse and will kill all the instrument bulbs if blown.

HTH.

be careful....i'd disconnect the battery or u could end up with your srs light staying on for two mins....mercs seem to send a fault code to the brain if u breathe too close to the cluster....its easy to fix but can be avoided

The oil + battery lights on my girlfreind's 190 don't work; reckon the same technique will apply?
