Hi All,

I juts bought a '84 500SEC. Alls great except I have no dash lights(or gears) what so ever when the headlights are switched on.

The seller replaced the radio and I was wondering if this may have something to do with it?

The radio and it works fine but there is a green wire from the car that does not connect to anything in the radio and a black/ grey wire for the radio that is not matched. It has a label saying to connect to negetive from battery?

There is a brown wire and a yellow/ green wire from the car that are not connected to anything. Also the cigarette lighter does not illuminate or operate?

Any help much needed and appreciated,

Thanks,

Les

Your radio and cigar lighter should be on the same wire,Green/yellow I think.
The wire saying connect to negative is not part of the car, it probably got left behind on a radio change, Are there any loose wires coming from dash.

My info is not good for pre 1990, see if I can find something.

malcolm.

You could find the instrument light wire with a ohm meter, since the dimmer for these lights a prone to failure, I wonder if there is just a fault with that.
