Hopefully someone can give me a simple answer on this before I get too far into it.
How easy/difficult is it to replace the instrument panel lights that sit behind the dashboard on a 1994 C180 ?
The light behind the digital clock has gone so that the time cant be read, I have'nt had a good look yet, but just want too know if its going to be easy or not so easy ! !. Will probably change all of the bulbs whilst I have it out.

Thanks in advance.

If you buy the bulbs from your Mercedes dealer, ask for the tool for removing the instrument cluster. They cost about £10 and makes removing the cluster easy. They are basically two hooks which slide down either side of the cluster. My C class had an adjustable steering column, if yours hasn't you will need to remove the steering wheel as well.

What ive done in the past is when i go to a scrap yard i aquire numerous bulbs out of any car that has similar types as a lot of cars use VDO clocks and so the bulbs are the same type and wattage. The clock light is i think a 2 watt bulb,It will say on the back of the clock where the bulb sits. You will need to disconnect the battery, then unscrew the lower panel of the dash and remove. You will be able to then push the clocks out from behind and then push till it touch's the steering wheel. Then with key in ignition turn wheel clockwise about 45 degrees and disconnect the cable plugs, turn wheel more and push out cluster. The rest is easy.I have pics of this been done if you need.
