I'm hoping someone can help!

We have an E270, 2002, and recently had a dead battery, unfortunately hubby had reversed the car into the garage, so had to disconnect to charge up, no jump start! Everything is working fine now, apart from the audio/nav...... Completely dead, won't switch on. Any idea's? We think it may be the fuse, but have no fuse diagram with the car.

Any help would be very much appreciated.:D

Hubby has checked all fuses under bonnet and in boot, and all are OK. Anywhere else, or could it be the relay?

I'm not familiar with the Comand system, but most car radios have a dedicated fuse in the rear of the unit. I recently had to replace this fuse in my mother-in-law's car after a flat battery and subsequent re-charge.

The Comand fuse is number 28 in the fuse box in the interior compartment on drivers side

Thank you Malcolm, now we just have to find the fuse box! We found the one under the bonnet and in the boot, and according to the manual, the other was behind the dash on the nearside, but that's marked airbag, so didn't want to force it! Couldn't see one on the drivers side, but will go and look later............

Oh well, fuse number 28 found, and tested fine, so must either be the relay, or as Laughing Gas suggested maybe a fuse at the rear of the unit. I'm guessing that there's not much else we can do now other than call in an auto electrician or go back to an MB garage............

Oh dear - as an update, had a diagnostic from a MB garage today, appears the comand system is completely dead, and we need a new one........... At over £1,600 just for the unit, and £80+ ph labour, it's an expensive job, the warranty only covers 1k per claim..... Any suggestions of a good registered garage that can help? Is £1,600 right just for the unit? Many thanks!

they come up all the time on ebay for a few hundred pounds but make sure you get the right part number. It should just plug straight in. £1600 is actually quite cheap for a command - they are over £2k on the extras list.
I'm not aware of anyone who repairs them.
