Dead LED in central brake light array.

I had an advisory last MOT about a dead LED and wondered if anyone has ever changed one.

It'll be a sealed unit that you'll need to replace as a complete unit.

Unplug it for the next mot it will pass.
Stupid but if less than 50% are working it's a fail but if nothing light's up it will pass.
But you will change it i would things have to work on my car's lol.

Surely, if nothing lights up, it is 0% working, which is less than 50%.

Well it got through the recent MOT without being mentioned. I’ll get round to changing it one day.

If you decide to fit a replacement unit I'd avoid non-OEM knock-offs. I tried 2 different ones in my W211 and neither fitted properly. In the end I put the original one back in. In the last two years I've not had an advisory for it, so it's possibly also down to how particular or pedantic the tester is!
