The mrs and I were changing the window swiches on the estate when she accidentally touched two wires together and there was a big spark.

curiously, none of the windows work now, apart from the driver's window. BUT only when the door is open. Sunroof is fine. Radio works. No windows :(

No A/C fitted either so bloomin awful this month...

I figure a relay has gone, but don't know which - anyone got any insight?

More likelly to be the fuse.
If you check the handbook or the inside of the fuse box, you may find which fuse is doing what on your car.
Also a bit more info on what car may be usefull, or is it the W124 200T?
I like the bit about the 1986 GSXR. I have a "F" Reg GSX1100EF that I have owned since 1992. She's old but can still old her own in a pack.

From the way you describe the fault, the 'mrs' is at fault. Have you tried replacing the 'mrs'?

I'm not sure what a 'mrs' is, as I live with my mum, but I'm sure that the dealer will have a part number.

yeah, I only keep one merc at a time

i checked the fuses - no luck, that's why i am concerned about relays. i have a multi-meter, so is there a resource online that'll tell me what on earth to do to check it?

my gsxr is as quick as most bikes (don't come near me with a bandit) but MUCH slower than modern racers. that's in a straight line or corners! however, get me in traffic and my courier past comes out...
