Hi all, I've got a sl500 (1994) and I'm having problems with the engine loom , What are my options for repairing or can they be bought second hand (can I fit the earlier loom 91/92) ThankS

On this matter of the 93-95 cars having biodegradable wiring, is it possible to buy upgraded loom either in sections or as a whole putting the issue to rest going forwards?

Sileck auto electrical will rebuild your existing harness. Normally it's the top engine harness that gives trouble and the throttle body harness. Essentially what they do is cut the old connectors off and rejoin them to new wires. Mine was done about 7 years ago and it's been fine ever since.

All you do is remove the old damaged harness (takes about 15-20 minutes) and send to Sileck. They rebuild it and send it back. Refitting it takes about 30 minutes or so.
