hi everyone new member here .trying to find anyone who has converted w140petrol to 300td engine as they were built for mainland europe never made in rhd .any info would be very helpful .would bo nice project

The steering column is in the way for RHD thats why they never came to the UK

The earlier S Class was available in a turbodiesel model. I believe the turbodiesel W140 used the same engine and it's not one of Mercedes' best - it's renowned for bending rods

Fitting the engine would be the same as any engine swop. Brilliantly simple in conception, fiendishly bl**dy difficult in execution

Malc is on track again. Yes it can fit but not with the turbo in RHD form. Lose the turbo & you'll have to cut holes in the floor for pedals:lol:

thanks lads is this also the case for the 320cdi engine
