Can anybody plz advise ?
Been trying to have my passenger airbag replaced following Recall letter in August. First impossible to contact West London garage. Disconnected after 20 min waiting on the phone. After 4 attempts gave up and phoned Customer Services. On 27th September West London fixed a date also confirmed by email by Customer Services. When I got to the garage this morning was told they had no trace of my booking despite my email confirmation. Felt like popping all the balloons in the showroom. Phoned back Customer Services and they told me that they didn't have the part and that the garage forgot to cancel. Honestly?

Wait it gets better...

I then asked if I could book again to sort the problem out. Was told nobody could tell for sure when the part would be available and to call again Customer Services if I did not hear anything. I then asked the lady what would happen if the airbag exploded and was told I could sue.

Not sure where to go now. Any advise?

Try a different MB main dealer? I also had problems in that, having made the booking and delivered the car to them (about 6 weeks later) they opened the box on the new one and found it had been damaged in transit so they could not fit it. They immediately ordered a replacement (again 6 weeks delivery) but I told them not to call me with a booking until they'd actually received it, opened the box and found it was undamaged. That worked, and about 8 weeks after the first failed attempt the job was done. Then I had a interesting discussion with the service manager to get a print out from them specifying that the recall replacment had been done - I'm a bit anal about the history files I keep for my cars!!

Well lets hope the airbag does not explode itself and you need to sue.
Now keep calm, go in person to the dealer and ask to speak to someone to order and book you in. Also ask to speak to the dealer principle to highlight your unhappiness in a pleasant manner.
