I have just acquired a (UK) 1988 W124 300D Auto saloon. In the boot was a section of soundproofing wadding which, I am told, belongs in the driver's footwell. I have spent hours trying to figure out how it should fit! Can anybody PLEASE help?!
The wadding is roughly L- shaped, with a 30mm notch on one edge, a 150mm slit on another edge and a roughly semi-circular cut-out near to one corner. It is also embossed on one side.
How is it supposed to fit? Does it lie against the floor? Which side up? Should it be up in the lower half of the dash section, or lower down over the black panel?
If anyone can advise, a sketch or written instructions to me at zanimat@glowinternet.net would help to preserve my sanity!
Thanks in advance!!
