does anyone know if i have a faulty lead or weather there is a routine you have to do to read the ecu on a e class e300td 210 chassis i have tried it with the ign on and asscerory i have used my machine on many other mb and lots of other cars and its been fine but my car had a 38 pin plug so i had to buy a conversion lead for it when i plug it in it powers up and will start reading the car but then it just keeps returning to the main menu any ideas????

the 38 pin port is for Star diag, and not sure if you can just use a 38pin to 16pin odbII converter ? either way, your not too far from BlackC55(horndean) or S A M - U N I T (southampton) so why not get one of the experts to see whats going on, then perhaps they can offer further advice on the best way forward for you and your scanner
