You need one with a Star machine, then corrections can be made, other readers will read some but not all.

I was charged around £60. Seemed heavy but it did take over 1hr and he did explain that the kit is damned expensive and he needed to recoup it somehow.

normally garages charge £40 for diagnostics here in Edinburgh.

I have been to Deutch marque and even just a local garage and they both charged me £40 at different occasions.

Its not really expensive to actually buy the whole equipment now to use your home computer for diagnostics and/0r even doing changes to the ECU. softwre (star) on ebay is selling for less than £20 and interface unit can again cost upto £100.

even this guy on ebay is selling a basic diagnostic used for <£30 to just give the fault code
