Diesel Auto box Problem C220

Driving home sudden clunk from rear alike when handbrake disengaged. ABS warning light immeadiately came on. Thereafter no gear selection.Will only select 1st and reverse. Car in garage for diagnosis. Could anybody help forewarn me what might have happend :shock:

Speed sensor on diff gone was the diagnosis. Replaced and gearbox now working fine. Sensor cost £100 + that and a 1/2 to fit. Thinking of getting a honda!, something that just works.
