So 'her indoors' '52 C220CDI got stuck in second gear and limped into MBS in Exeter who pronounced the Transmission ECU dead. Apparently it got contaminated with transmission oil and is giving a permanent error code.
Replacing the ECU was the brain numbing cost of £800+ so, what to do?
a) Source one from a breaker - Dronsfield has none - any other suggestions?
b) Repair the ECU - can anyone suggest a reliable and honest ECU repairer who could fix and not fiddle?
Hoping the answer is out there!
