Hi,

Could any diesel engine experts out there answer this for me?

What does the vacuum type actuator on the inlet manifold do and what controls it, on my 95 E300 diesel. I was checking the fluids the other day and was curious. I have ordered a manual to answer these kind of things but until then can anyone help?

Also why are there two linkages on the inlet maniflod? Is this some sort of variable length intake?

Many thanks in advance
