Does anyone have any pointers on fuel filter replacement on an 300D. I thought I'd tackle this job myself.
Any tricks of the trade, things a DIY should watch out
for?
When you change the pre-filter remember which way round it is fitted. There should be a small arrow on one end indicating the flow direction.
The main filter is equally as easy to fit, just unscrew the central nut and the filter drops away, fit the new one (don't forget the rubber seal), and before tightening the central nut completely, unscrew the hand pump which is below the pre-filter, and pump up and down until the air bubbles cease to show at the main filter. Then tighten the central bolt on the main filter, I usually give 2 or 3 more pumps on the hand pump before pushing down and screwing in back into place. Tip: Put some rags or newspaper underneath to catch expelled fuel. purdie
