Diesel Heater Plug Indicator

Hi all
The heater plug indicator light on my E350 seems to have acquired a mind of its own!!!!!
It comes on when engine switched on, goes out after a short time, as it always has, then goes on and off randomly. Everything else seems to be normal. Not done any fault finding as I am away.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Mine comes on (heating the plugs), goes off (they're hot), start the engine, all running, comes back on for about a minute.
That's the error message there's a problem somewhere with them. (Mine was plug No.2 faulty (Xentry))

Either a plug off or the relay is at fault , it's possible for a plug to blow and take out the relay with it , bit like a blown fuse .

Very little posted on here about cdi engine glow plug problems on the W/S212 mine’s on 80k miles without issue. As you say a bit of investigation required might be a glow plug failure or the relay, the W/S211 suffered quite a lot with relay problems not so the 212
