i noticed a stain on the road where my ml270 was parked and at first thought it was oil........ after checking i realised it was diesel. the bottom of the engine was all moist with it.

iv had the car checked by a local garage where they have checked the top and bottom of engine but cannot see where it has come from.
they have even tried leaving it running on a ramp for 3-4 hours but still no sign of where the leak has come from.

this is not regular leak as the 2nd stain on road appeared about 4 weeks later.

please help as this is mind boggling!!!!

thanks........

Amir

Hello and welcome,, the most common is a leak on the injector rail at the rear,, but a leak could be from anywhere or from anyone of the fuel lines, including the return to tank.

Lift the cover off the engine, and take a look,, you could also buy a engine cleaner spray to wash the block down with,,it will help to see where it is coming from

Check all the plastic pipe joints around the pumps front of the engine ..just above the poly V belt these can drip leak and are very hard to pick up . the fuel then runs down behind the pulleys..

most common cause, if you find these are leaking order two new pipe clips, they will break when undoing them!
