I put £50 worth of diesel in today, which took it to £5000 worth of fuel since I bought the car, which was 21st May 2018, I've put fuel in 96 times since I got it. Miles when picked up was 23,073 miles now is 47,790.
So approximately 30MPG overall. Car is a 2011 C207 E class coupe 350cdi 265bhp.

A similar timescale to my Lexus really. Bought in August 2018, fuelled a bit less though. In fact 12 times in total up to present, at a cost of £620.00. Bought with 30,808, currently on 33,576.

It works out at 28.77 overall mpg which I don't suppose is too shabby as, apart from one longish trip to Milton Keynes (to an AMG meet where only 2 AMG's turned up because winter :)) it's all been around the houses. Car is a 2014 RX450h Advance.

As for the Mercedes, I'm not even going there, bought in October 2019 with 17 miles and still only got 2,200 on it. Roll on normality...

Oh, and the Lexus is due a service next week having done a magnificent 230 miles since the last one. :(

That's excellent, Russ, to be honest, if or when I, change my car, it may well be a petrol. :)
I was a big diesel fan and love the instant shove from a diesel. However the world has turned and the carp that is nailed to them nowadays means I just wouldn't have any new diesel if I was responsible for the bills.
I also really love driving my car, which is what it's all about :)

I am not a fuel consumption Nerd so all I can tell you that the average fuel consumption as shown on the dash since it was reset is 34.6mpg. I havn't reset it and just maybe it never has been reset. On a run I have seen 44.6mpg. Now I ask myself what is the point of a diesel. I am not a high mileage driver I usually only cover between 4,000 and 5,000 miles a year  :)

I'm not a fuel consumption nerd, either, believe it or not, it was just something I started, when I first got the car, and just carried it on, as long as I'm enjoying the car, I don't really care about MPG, unless it was ridiculously low of course. :)

Just added my fuel up £1408.16 and covered 9004 miles, so a bit ahead of you albeit in a 280 CDI.

Still if it makes you feel any better I'm smiling. :)

Our old E240 W210 shows an average over the past 10k miles of 28mpg.
Don't think I'll bother with a diesel.

how do you work out MPG from a cost ?

the price per litre has been £1:60 down to £1:10 and now back to £1:30 during that time.... litres not cost ?
30mpg out of a modern tractor? that's disgraceful - so you killed all known life forms to save precisely nothing on fuel ?

£800 per month when we were running our SL's, mind you we enjoyed just getting in and driving off anywhere we liked, blimey, haven't done that for a year now. Only big journey we had was to Northern Ireland last September
Now with fuel rocketing in price £420 for both the SLK and E Class these days :(
