A200
Hello I am a new member to the forum and I look forward very much to reading interesting topics whilst learning at the same time.
I collect my new A200 next week from the dealership.
This will be my first Mercedes Benz purchase.
Could anyone tell me the difference between Digital White and Diamond White colours please!
Thank you in advance.

Congratulations. What colour did you order ? Are you thinking of having it re-sprayed ?

There are only 2 white colours available for the current UK spec A Class.
Similar to what Blobcat said...
Polar White is a solid paint and the only free colour in the range.
Digital White is a metallic and costs £595.

My car is Polar White and it is a fairly bright white but not the brightest out there.
Digital White can look duller in darker light and have a sort of greyish tinge to it, but like all metallics looks at its best in bright sunlight.
Personally speaking if I wanted a white car (and I did) I would be more than happy (and I am) with the free option of Polar White.
You pays your money and takes your choice as they say. :)

Having a car ordered in white seems to be more expensive than any other colour! In my day white colour chosen indicated your poverty situation
You are going back a bit there to your day. :D
White has been a very popular new car colour for well over a decade, which prompted many manufacturers to charge extra for it. Mercedes are an exception to this by offering it free, but then it is the only free option and all manufacturers need to (or should) offer at least one free colour.
White is still in the 2021 top 3 new car colours with grey being at the top.
There are many different grey shades but none of them would be my choice.
We are all different in our preferences though, which is a good thing. :)

80’s, 90’s and early 00’s all vans and cheapest repomobiles were white. They then changed to silver as no one wanted to be seen in white allowing white to come back into fashion…

60's and 70's though never said it wasn't a popular colour, more like in my day the option for low budget to suit the pockets of none business customers. Like Blobcat says it was a colour used on many trade vehicles later on and then became redundant until the new black became white :D

Well it is now "next week" so the OP will presumably have collected his "new A200".
I wonder if he found out for himself about the differences between the 2 current Mercedes white shades...because he certainly never came back here to read his replies. :p
