different sized wing mirrors

I've recently bought a mercedes 300 ce 24

It's low mileage and in excellent condition, to my dismay i got home and found that the passanger mirror is bigger than the drivers side. My immediate reaction was to assume that this was replacement (and at a budget) although the fitting seemed perfect. However, having gone on google and looked for pics of the 300 ce i have found a couple which are the same as mine.

Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

Hi,
Welcome to the forum,
Different size mirrors was the norm on the W124's and i believe 190's (W201).
I have heard people fitting the drivers side mirror from a LHD car to the passenger side of the vehicle, but you would have to use the glass from the LHD vehicle which i,m led to believe is unsuitable for use on the RHD.

Drivers mirror is wider, and flatter (think widescreen TV* ratio), passenger side is taller, but narrower, so square (think normal TV ratio).

* not you television - not met you so I don't know if you're widescreen or not! ;)
