Well boys, i tackled the rather simple job of changed the diff oil yesterday. So far Ive managed to snap 2 allen keys in half, and come out with a sore arm

any tips??

Also what is the service interval for the diffs?

Hi,

I have a 98' E240 and it has 86000 on the clock. Do I need to change the diff oil?

David.

Hi David

As usual MB say there is not need. You & I who either have to give out the bills or pay them, would feel better if it where changed. It wouldn't be so bad if it where synthetic oil in there. But as far as I know, its not.

I am coming fast to the belief that if they say there is no need. Then change it.

Afterall they are only interested for the first three years. After that its YOUR problem.

So change it. It wont hurt.

Regards

I always ask if their's no need to change the diff oil, why did they put a drain plug in? :p

So I tend to change it every three year for the sake of £15.
