hi took my car to the authorised stealership for servicing as I had some warranty work to ne done.

I also decided to get it serviced there.
I am told that the car needs a transmisson fluid changed as the car has done 50k miles.
On the servicing sheet it said that the oil needed changing only once at 37500 miles. I bought the car from the same dealer when it had done 39k miles.
My argument is that the car I was sold should have had that change before I bought it and therefore I wouldnt pay for it.
Their excuse was that the computer did not print it out when the car had a used car pre sales inspection. Despite their piece of paper stating otherwise.

What should I do and how can I stand my ground.

Logic says that you should have a very good case for having it done for nothing as long as the service record with the car is 'up to date' with the same dealer as you purchased the car from and that you bough the car with the 'full MB service' record
you could argue that an up to date service record was the main reason you bought the car
A computor error on their part should not be your problem, it could be a genuine mistake i would take it up with the salesman you bought it from and kick up a bit of a stink, its poor from a MB dealer to make such an argument over a reasonably small issue
Be firm but not agressive with them and tell that you will take it further
if not resolved
best of luck

The problem here could be that MB have been changing their minds on when to do the gearbox oil over the last year or so. So, it may not have been due at the time and you effectively had an overlap. If it were me, I'd stick to my guns and if they don't budge, be prepared to come to an arrangement - say 50%.
