dim/bright lights

Hi,

Heres one for you, Engine running , lights or no lights when revved the lights on the radio get brighter then dim as the revs fall.

With lights on at night when revved the headlights get brighter then dim as revs fall.

Any ideas please, Dan

Just the alternator doing its job id say, battery may be a little suspect.

i had the same problem on an omega twas the fan belt slipping

Could be that also, but usually its acompanied by a loud screeching noise when it slips

you will need to have it checked out it could be the voltage regulator on the alternator

Yes best thing to do,just a few voltage checks on the battery with engine off and running will give the answer.

You can do it yourself with a £5 meter

Before starting, the voltage should be over 12v.
when started, the voltage should not rise above 13.8 volt
